The Storm welcomed veteran guard Katie Smith back to the practice court Tuesday afternoon for the team’s first session since Sunday’s preseason win over the Tulsa Shock. Smith, who has missed both of the Storm’s preseason games due to tendinitis in her left Achilles, said she was “feeling it out” as she did some shooting and went through the team’s dummy offense at half speed.
“I think if we keep moving in the right direction, she might be able to give us a little bit of time on Saturday,” said Storm Head Coach Brian Agler.
Agler did caution that it may be a while before Smith is truly beyond the time she’s missed.
“It still will be a few weeks until we get her up to speed, 100 percent – I’m talking about having her play a lot of minutes consecutively – but it’s good to have her back on the court,” he said.
Belinda Snell, who is working back from a sprained ankle suffered last Wednesday at Los Angeles, is also making progress and was able to shoot around after practice.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen on Saturday,” said Agler. “I could see her warming up and being in uniform, but playing I don’t know.”

We’ll see …
I have no doubt that Katie will be ready to help Kick Butt and Take Names…
