Fain Blog- Back to Work After a Great All-Star Break

How fun was it to watch the Seattle Storm trio absolutely dominate in Saturday’s All-Star Game?!  MVP Swin Cash, Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson combined for 47 points on 19-of-27 from the field (7-for-10 from three), 14 rebounds, 14 assists and three turnovers!  The did all this in just 52 combined minutes!  It was fantastic to see the Storm get their much deserved credit for a great first half of the season in front of a national TV audience.

But now it’s back to work in a place where the Storm has seen ZERO success in the recent past.  Seattle has not won in San Antonio since 2005, a losing streak of five straight games.   For Seattle to snap that streak, the Storm must continue to get production out of two players that have been fantastic as of late – Camille Little and Tanisha Wright.  Camille is averaging 13 points and eight rebounds over her last five games, including a 17-point, 14-rebound monster performance against L.A.  Tanisha has scored in double figures in each of her last five and in my opinion is playing the best ball of her career.

Sue’s shooting is key as well.  In wins Birdy hits for 42 percent from three; in losses she hits only 25 percent from behind the arc.  I’d say she’s in a groove though right now … 4-of-5 from three in the all star game and a Storm record seven in 14 attempts vs. L.A.!

The tip tonight is at 5:00 p.m. Seattle time on 1150 KKNW! Talk to you then!
